My first 7 deadly sins drawing I've ever done ^^; I had started it in Algebra class when i was bored, so if you see a bunch of numbers showing through the back there, it's on the back of my polynomials worksheet X.x; And now, for some explanation of my drawings. I based alot of my drawings from one of my favorite 7 deadly sins artists, deviantart.com resident `blackeri, who did each of the sins with special meanings to their poses and surrounding objects. I was also inspired by the FMA Homonculi, so you might see a bit of them in my drawing. And...in advance, I apologize for the stick figures .___. i'll have you know, it was in the middle of class, so i didn't have that much time to do alot of details for miniscule figures. u.u;; First, i wanna start with Pride. If you look closely into the holes of the R and the D, you'll see a broken mirror in each. This was taken from `blackeri's take on Vanity, with the sin holding the mirror to see herself. In the P, you'll see more hand-held broken mirrors, with a stick man also holding a mirror. On the P, i also added swords, to sympolize Fuhrer King Bradley, who's *SPOILER ALERT* the Homonculus Pride in the anime. Next, we have Wrath. I depicted flames in the W and on the T to symbolize blazing anger, and I showed a coulpe stick figures, one strangle the other, and third figure being stabbed in the chest in a jealous rage (i guess that would also include envy xD; ) Moving on, we have Sloth, and i wanted it to seem that it was just lazing around, just gonig nowhere in particular, so i drew the word drawn out and curvy. I added a couple of people swinging in a swing (inspired by `blackeri), blowing bubbles, reading on the job, sleeping, and the clouds, feathers, and sailboat to symbolize tiredness. Then, there was the really hard one for me, Greed. As you can see, there was a constant reference to money, though I am aware that greed goes far beyond that of currency, so i added in the people in the first E, to symbolize the collection and hoarding of certain people. In the G, i put in the Homonculus Greed's well-known evil grin, the picture of which i drew from the manga. I also used the diamonds in the D from the Avarice drawing from `blackeri. Envy i thought was one of my coolest word drawings, despite the fact that it was quite simply drawn...I put in a man with two women in the E with another man on the N, looking on in jealousy at how well the first male could gather a heram. I then drew a snake down the tail of the Y, an idea borrowed, once again, from `blackeri. See how creative i am? ^^; Don't worry! only a little more to go! Gluttony was one of my favorites above all. I tried to make the word big and fancy, to indicate an indulgence of space, time, and effort. In the G, i drew a figure laying on his back as grapes dropped down to him, as if from heaven, into his mouth, to symbolize the material gluttony of food. Under the 2nd T, i drew a "large" house, to show an extra taking in housing, another material indulgence. In the O, i put in the Homonculus Gluttony's oversized mouth and tongue, though i didn't think to add the Oroborous to it until after i scanned the picture...ah wel. looks good that way ^^ then, taking use of the Y, i enforced the idea of indulgence in textiles (the figure lying on the sheets) and the glutton for punishment (the two with one whipping the other). And last but almost definitely not least, Lust. This one i tried to make like it tried to be beautiful, but in its lust had some kind of flaw that made it less and less as beautiful as it wanted to be. In the curve of the L, I showed bloodlust, as a figure was shot in cold blooded murder in exchange for his killer to have his crave sasted. At the T, i showed the most common interpretation of lust: sex. The two figures are throwing their undies off in their haste to get at each other, and so, tiz lust. The little ~ mark showed the lust to want to continue its existence, which you may or may not understand, but hopefully you get it ^^; And so, this is my latest drawing. I hope you find it tolerable ^^; i'll see if i can get it colored, but if not, i'm sure you'll enjoy a contour line drawing just the same! ^O^
