Oh, hello there, self-insert Sue! I couldn't be assed to draw SakuHina or InoSaku today, so I drew an OC that looks suspiciously like me... Well, okay, I'd be lying if I said she isn't just a little bit of a self insert. Give me a break, I sometimes fondly miss those days of oblivious self-insertion. Naturally, while drawing this a small backstory came to mind: The OC's name is Shira, she lived in a neighbouring apartment in the same complex as Sakura when they were children. Sakura's family moved, Sakura met Uchiha Sasuke and started crushing on him like woah, and entered the shinobi academy as a result of her infatuation with him. During these years after Sakura's move, Shira continued living a civilian's life and attended a regular school, studied under her father's tutelage as an apprentice acupuncturist and took over the family practice in her early twenties. In her mid-twenties, Shira bumped back into Sakura during a festival and the two caught up and spent more time together. That's really all there is to it, nothing earth-shattering or heart-rending, just two old friends reuniting and spending time together. This is more or less my hiatus farewell to the Naruto fandom; I may rejoin you guys one day either out of nostalgia or because the manga storyline decided to pick itself back up and stop being the next Dragon Ball Z. There's only room for one DBZ in my fandom list. Sakura's my guilty pleasure, though, so she may violate my hiatus ultimatum.
