Here's a sad one. Duarte was living through hard times in his country and he was left on the streets becuase his parents had died from disease. He was starving and very lonely as a child and no one would take him in. As he continued living in solitary he could no longer steal food becuase he would get beaten as punishment. This started his cannibalism. I'd go into more detail with what he did but it would be too gruesome. Esquecido I believe is the Portugese word for forgotten. Correct me if I'm wrong
