Portrait based on one of the greatest and most beloved Sci-Fi multiseries ever made so far, "Space Battleship Yamato" (which debuted in 1974 and is partly known for its North American Edited Version, "Star Blazers"). I did this drawing while looking at a poster that is bonus for Issue No. 4 of "Otaku USA" (which was released last month), but I didn't feel like adding any shadows to the drawing since it was too hard to capture all the shadow effects from the poster.
From left to right (names in brackets are from the North American Version): Yuki Mori (Nova Forrester), Shiro Sanada (Sandor), Daisuke Shima (Mark Venture), Susumu Kodai (Derek Wildstar).
Outlining: S and M PITT type artist pens. Coloring: Fibre-Tip Pens, 3rd Darkest B PITT type Artist pen (for Sanada's hair), and peach pencil crayon (for Yuki's face since I don't have a fibre-tip pen for skin color of white-race female humans).
In case you're wondering why the skin color shade of Sanada, Shima, and Kodai is darker than Yuki's in this piece, I was just following the facial coloring scheme for human genders featured in all "Space Battleship Yamato" anime after the franchise's 1st T.V. series installment.
Hope you anime fans like this one! Next time I draw Anime human characters who are of Asian or white races, I'll make sure to stick with the same color shade for both females and males.
