In the past I've tried drawing Kenpachi as he is now... All big and burly, you know.. But they always turned out like crap because his hair is so damn annoying.

But then.. I was reading the manga, and I came across one of the parts where it's showing Kenpachi as a young adult.. And I was like, "YEAH I COULD DRAW THAT." Because he's clearly less built, and his hair is not nearly as insane.

And when I pictured this pose, I was not intending it to make him look frightened.. But when I finished it, I was more than happy with the outcome. I think it's nice to finally see some emotion on Kenpachi's face other than rage or pure insanity (aka his definition of happiness, which entails fighting.)

This is the uncolored version; I'm gunna color it later. Not this week.
