The thing I don't like about my art is that I usually don't know if I like it or not. Sigh... I like her hair...and the water lilies. But as I look at it, I'm like, "Her face seems off. The background sucks. How come there's no reflection on the water? There's too much green." *pulls at hair* Will I ever be satisfied with my work?
Well, there is a story behind this piece. Something about a wealthy man finding a water sprite, falling in love (becomes obsessed) with her, and luring her into his castle by music. Once she set foot within his domain, he locked her up in his personal gardens where she had to sing to him everyday.
At least that's the story I came up with when drawing...mainly when I was doing the wall. I couldn't come up with a better background (and believe me, I spent hours trying different backgrounds) so I left it like it is now. As for her facial expression, consider it one of resignation to her doomed fate. Crap, that sounds so depressing!
If you like it well enough to leave a comment, you'll make my day. If not, I don't blame you.
