this is a victorian portrait of one of my characters from crestfallen era, evangeline! though this time i didnt add green shine to her hair; felt that it would be to much of a contrast with the red. afterall, didnt want her to look like christmas.
i almost made the ruffles of the dress blue, but felt that red would be more rich and vintage. though usualy when i do color scemes to vintage rooms, i use red and gold, its so classic. im not sure about you people, but i can almost tell what kind of fabrics the dress and drape and ect. are made of. i guess that means i did a good job! i didnt put the watermark anywhere where it would interfere with the main object, putting it on the wall was because it felt to open.
ugh! this picture took me all night to color! photobucket was down for maintance, that lasted a good 30 minutes, finding and deciding which print patterns to use took a few hours, then editing the lens of the picture took me awhile, so did adding my watermark. the colors had to be perfect, and the tones, and patterns and blah blah, that kind of stuff. i tried to add the "picture on the wall" feel to the portrait. i hope it has that element.
