this picture is when she is 13, 2 years before the Naruto series began. and 2 years before Karin joins the Akatsuki at age 15 and meets Itachi again. in this picture, she is saying "We'll take it from here..." to another Anbu Team. in her Anbu squad, she is Captain of the Anbu Black Ops just like Itachi was.
