I hadn't drawn Roy in a long time when I started sketching this one... and I was never really good at drawing him in the first place, so I admit I copied the pose from the cover of a doujinshi, but did it in my style, and took stuff away from the original and adding different elements of my own in the meantime.

Since this picture represents Roy during the war in Ishbal, a desert country, I wanted him to be in a sort of sandstorm. I used a desert picture as the background that I modified and used some brushes to create "sand clouds" if you can call that, in the foreground. I really like the effect that gave the picture.
