With the current unit in commercial art being on fashion design, I've gotten into this habit of drawing long, lanky figures. While doodling, I decided to try and work on my styling, to make it...something or another. Really, just messing with my form and seeing what horrible results would come from doing such.

For some reason, it became Joel. Then he was sitting on a table with the boxes at his feet. At first, he was going to be talking to Gypsy and Cambot (you know, the other two 'bots), but I was like "...They wouldn't have random boxes on the SoL..."

So it became an exploration of Joel's stay at Gizmonic Institute. Since it's a little vague on what exactly he did - he cleaned up, but he's obviously very crafty and intelligent, not to mention the whole invention exchange - I just...kinda...drew...stuff. He's moving boxes, along with other faces in [color] jumpsuits.

The guy in the background is loosely based on TimeChaser, while the girl was meant to be loosely based on this girl on DeviantArt (who is a huge Joel fan), though it also ended up looking like my genius-friend Erin. Spending two years in a jumpsuit (marching band, long story) has taught me many of their secrets. One of the things we did a lot was slip off the top and tie the sleeves around our waists, so that's what's going on with hers.
