A little while ago, I had the urge to do a steampunk illustration, probably influenced by all the steampunk costumes I saw at AWA, and while I had some characters in mind, I couldn't come up with a composition I liked. So I decided to do character concepts for now so that I wouldn't forget my mental image.

The girl's outfit was actually inspired by something that a co-worker wore to work (the top half, anyway). The idea of having a rabbit mount also came from her, as she has a pet rabbit. For the guy, I'd sketched a similar face a while ago and thought that this would be a good use of it. His outfit was inspired by something my favorite vocalist wore at a fashion show.
