This is made for my story, which is basically a giant crossover where I steal anime/manga characters and strip them of their memories and reprogram them as I need it. Each main character and major secondary character gets their own concept art, character illustration, and character portrait. This is Hiei’s character illustration, which is supposed to show the character's main weapon in a pose that defines him.

I took a lot of time to choose Hiei’s outfit. It’s not like I had no idea what he would wear that is, well, modern. But it’s like walking into a large closet full of clothes. There’s so much to choose from! I eventually found these. And it was hard to choose between red or orange for the shirt. Hiei’s original pose was to be really cool, but it wouldn’t work for me. After shoving it in a corner for two weeks, I changed the pose to this current one. I still like it though.

Oh, and a big thanks to my friend Anthony. He randomly came over to me while I was working and gave me a lesson in shading with this pic.
