Two years he walks the earth. No phone, no pool, no pets, no cigarettes. Ultimate freedom. An extremist. An aesthetic voyager whose home is the road. Escaped from Atlanta. Thou shalt not return, 'cause "the West is the best." And now after two rambling years comes the final and greatest adventure. The climactic battle to kill the false being within and victoriously conclude the spiritual pilgrimage. Ten days and nights of freight trains and hitchhiking bring him to the Great White North. No longer to be poisoned by civilization he flees, and walks alone upon the land to become lost in the wild.
- Into The Wild
--
Into The Wild is most definitely my favorite book ever now. I only just started reading it last Friday after I yoinked it from my sister's bookshelf, but now I can't bring myself to put it down once I start reading. I cannot believe it's based on a true story; it's an extraordinary story. Of course, my parents and sister think that Chris McCandless had a few screws loose, but the funny thing is that I can see where he came from.
It's an idea of freedom and self-sufficiency, not insanity, that sprouted his thoughts.

PS/Fun-fact: The colors for this picture were referenced from a picture of a moth, despite my irrational fear of insects. :)
