This happens shortly after part two of "Real Folk Blues" on Cowboy Bebop. When Edward parted the Bebop with Ein, she had no idea that would be the last time she saw Spike ever again in this life. Three days after parting, she receives the news on her laptop that reads, "Spike Speigal, age 27, was found dead this morning at the Red-Dragon Tower. Witnesses claim he was seen in the early morning hours fighting...." After awhile, Edward can't read anymore news; just finds the article unreal and can't believe he's gone for good.
