Second entry into the NYAF 09 mascot contest.
I wanted to do something that looked a little friendlier to the audience.
At first I thought he looked creepy when I sketched him on paper, but now I think he looks pretty friendly..except that he might whack you with that newspaper. xD Nah, that's not how it is. He's offering everyone the news that NYAF is coming to town in September!

I chose green for the hair to represent the statue of liberty, the yellow hat and squares to resemble a taxi, the white shirt and rising sun to represent the Japan flag, the socks to resemble the Big Apple (they do have apples on them!) and I put a NYC skyline pattern on the shoes that I think looks really cool.
I'm actually really proud of this so..wish me luck por favor!
