Gift for mewmewpudding! Because I drew a water dragon for her a long time ago as a prize for winning a contest, but I wasn't really happy with that one so this is for you my dear amazing friend!!

Seriously, I was browsing on DA and suddenly I saw all these amazing dragon artist - wicked coloring - very realistic. Inspired, I wanted to try out and use a new drawing style. And now I'm like woah. That's crazy. For this drawing I didn't use a line art, I just started coloring. I first drew rough shapes for the head and I kept building up from that/refining the shape. In those rough brush stokes I saw sometimes features or shapes which I then refined :P

I'm definitely going to make more drawings like this. I love this method :3 Coloring line art is so much different for some reason - color within the lines and make it realistic. That's all there is to it. With this new method it's like start from scratch and see how it comes, and keep refining the shape.
