Here is Kikuno's Academy Assignment "Blending in with Civilians" I'll let her explain it. :)

Kikuno: Ahem. On the left we have the "Traveler's Guise". Consisting of only a Traveler's Cloak and Hat it is extremely easy to put on and take off, and also keeps the ninja's identity somewhat concealed, yet does not draw attention. After all, ALL towns have travelers, thus, people pay them no mind. You can easily fold up the cloak, and the hat can either be worn or carried, it also gives extra protection from sun, rain AND Enemy Ninja projectiles. :3

On the right we have the "Merchant Guise". This should be used when in a town for a longer period of time. Gathering information is simple when you are the town merchant, and since there are many street peddlers it is not uncommon. A Ninja can easily complete a mission and then return to the streets, blending in perfectly and discreetly. The added bonuses of the merchant guise is the pack. You can store it full of ninja tools and equipment, no one knowing any different. This uniform is also easy to put on and take off...all you need remove is the pack. After all, we ninja needn't be in uniform to complete our tasks. For our uniforms ARE to blend in.
