Hello. It's been 4 years since I entered otaku, my first art website I posted art in. Although I have cleared my whole gallery, I continue to leave one deviation (or so) per year to mark the first day I posted my artwork online. This year, I've come about a week late from that day, but I'll still post just out of my own custom.
This is a picture of a sky. I've taken up painting skies from the start of this summer. So far, I've painted about 6 sky pictures. I'm not very confident in that number, but I know for sure it's not that many.
Otaku has changed a lot since I joined. The old website layout still sticks in my mind, and I don't know how to utilize the new one. However, it's nice to always come back to the site I first started posting artwork, isn't it?
How I changed in artwork for the past 4 years:
Even though I haven't drawn much during the school year, it's hard to note a progress. However, seeing as how it's been 4 years, I can find some things to comment on. I steered away from black and white and started using heavily digital mediums. It started with a lot of photoshop, then switched to mspaint/oekaki. I adore pixel-like artworks. After that change, I started to draw less anime and became interested in sceneries. Skies are also something I've come to like naturally on my own (for some reason), and I have no idea where the inspiration for liking the sky came from. From this, I started painting skies. I do watch other landscape/skyscape artists and learn from looking at their artwork. I'm thinking of steering away from progressing in anime pictures, and focus on skyscapes. If my 4 years of art is in a nut-shell, that would be it.
In my opinion, I also grew up in some aspects, but still stay immature in other aspects (mainly because I don't think I've still truly found my own personality yet), but that's not a big problem, so I'll just let my life naturally take its course and see how experiences will affect my personality. :)
I'm still the same major I came in as I declared, which is biochemistry.
I don't know how my next four years of my life will be like, but I hope to again, return to otaku, update my annual pictures, and possibly, 3 pictures from now, in my 4th annual picture, I will write again about how I changed in terms of my art, and my personality. Hopefully, it will be a positive one, and I hope I will never give up art.
That is all for now.
I lost all my watchers (except Angel who's so awesome to remember me) from the otaku layout change that took place last year? 2 years ago? but I hope whoever stumbles upon this artwork, to enjoy looking at it (or just press the back button if you don't like it. xD). Either way, it's a sky I painted, and I'm still practicing. Good or bad, this sky is one practice painting that will help me improve my skills and make me better in my next skyscape. :)
Merry Christmas.
