...well...
I present the product of saying f*** it to all the stuff I needed to accomplish one weekend. This is pretty much the 2'x12'-ish collage that's above the big window in my dorm. I guess it kind of looks like this from the hallway. I wanted some record of it because come May, I'll have to tear it down.
The images used from left to right are as follows: Damon Alburn from Blur, random oboist, Tom Morello from Soundgarden and Audioslave, The Szpilman family band *spelling is probably wrong*, Matt Bellamy of Muse, Pete Townshend from The Who, George Harrison from The Beatles, Pete Loeffler from Chevelle, the album art from The Clash's London Calling, Daniel Johns of Silverchair, and Bobby Darin. The six guys in the middle are my favorite guitarists. There are two diagrams: the one on the left is an old fingering chart for oboe and on the right is an illustration of "Proper placement of the clarinet" (I used to play oboe and clarinet). The lyrics lining the top and bottom are from Incubus' The Warmth and Chevelle's Roswell's Spell respectively, the lyrics surrounding the man are from All the Lights Went Out by Marcy Playground, and around the woman is Smashing Pumpkins Today. Finally, the background is some old newspaper, the little blobs of color (mostly pink) are extra picks I made out of gift cards, the bird stencil is based on the album art for Incubus' A Crow Left of the Murder, and the sheet music in the center is the guitar tabs for Behind Blue Eyes by The Who.
I used masking tape, sharpies, ink, watercolor, computer paper, newspaper, cardboard, and used gift cards.
Enjoy
