One thing about seeing someone upset and/or crying I don't like is when they're alone.
Here in this scene, after discovering his wolves had been needlessly slaughtered by Naraku's minion, Kagura, and long after the fight against InuYasha, Koga is heading back to the den, when halfway there the toll of the losses of his brethren begins to weigh heavy on Koga's heart. He tries shrugging off his emotions, but with every passing minute the burden became too much.
Two of the wolves, sisters Lala and Sasha, see their brother in deep pain and sense his heart breaking. Both girls lead him away to a small private area, away from the other wolves. Lala lies down in the grass, resting her side against the ground. Sasha assists Koga to his knees, then nudges him with her soft nose to lay on Lala's belly.
Almost immediately, he begins to weep bitterly. The sisters lick him with their tongues, trying to comfort him in their tender wolfish ways.
