I was inspired by the music video for Hunter, by Björk. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiSohz7B0Zo She is certainly eccentric, some would call her "avant-garde", her style ranging from folk, electronic, hiphop, pop, punk and any kind of musical catergory there is. She took music as an art, as an artist, to a whole different level. A long long time ago, I had watched one of her music videos, don't remember what the song was, but I just remembered the name and how it made me feel. Now that I am older, I can appreciate it much more. Art helps me explain what I never can in words, I'm always troubled by finding the right words to say or write, but I don't now how to express myself. I like the impact her music had on me. She is being her natural self, and that's why she isn't weird. Definitely not like that Lady Gaga shit.
I actually liked how it turned out. It's not the best thing to look at but...
The only reference I had was a lady from a magazine that was in three-quarters profile, since I have a tough time drawing people from that perspective. I remembered her face, though; so it may be a bit off, but I'm learning how to memorize people's faces so I won't forget how to draw them. I took a Jackson Pollock approach and splattered the watercolors around in a frenzied sort of dance, I kind of experimented and danced the brush around while listening to Maximum The Hormone (that's why it's so insane. LOL). I just wished that the watercolor didn't look like watery blotches and were more vivid blue splatters, but I don't have watercolor paper.
I also used my limited palette of prismacolor pencils I have... like 7 pencils... that shit's expensive...
I also used my fingers to paint with this. I usually do that a lot with paintings, kind of a mark of identity. So it the government wants my fingerprints they know where to look D: lol.
I finished this at 2 AM in the morning. I think I started at 1 AM. lol idk.
I usually try not to type this long, I try to make things terse and short instead of writing long, detailed stuff. So sorry if anyone suffered from reading this long caption.
I dedicated it to X Shadowme X, even though she doesn't come on TheO much, she is a long long time friend of mine from MyOtaku, so I think she deserves this.
