(You will tolerate the flash...hopefully I nab a better one soon.)
Wow, this is only two months late.
Final for Art 101, aka Drawing 2. Each person in the class was given a fortune cookie, and from there, we had to make a picture based off of the fortunes we received.
Mine was perfect - "Delay is the deadliest form of denial". I am a master procrastinator, but I have the skillz to back up my ability to save myself. For me, I realized that my greatest sources of procrastination are the ways I entertain myself.
Right away, I gotta address the middle portrait of me. Yes, it is done rather poorly. Excuse: I had to combine two different source photos and the angling and proportions just came out bad. OH WELL, live and let live.
Admittedly, I put on MST3K as background noise whenever...I need background noise. It's great for drawing or playing video games to. But it's a distraction because I can wander off with it for hours on end and not get anything done. Thusly, we get the best-I-have-ever-rendered-him-and-it-was-freehanded Crow and Servo attacking me. Sorta. Just roll with it.
Another lovely distraction and fandom of mine is Doctor Who, specifically season five fnarg. Originally, the Doc' had an Amy to aid in his attacking, but she had to be axed at 4 in the morning on the day this was due because I just could not do it. Also, I realized that she'd really be doing nothing due to the physics of how humans work and stuff.
Thrown into the background are pages from my sketchbook, since I love to doodle. The BG color is reminiscent of this and is basically my attempt to simulate it in oil pastel. It was also the very last thing I did, pulled off and finished with about an hour until the final.
Due to how I work with oil pastel - that is, heavily saturating the paper and therefore pressing down hard with the pastels - my thumb and index finger were killing me for a good day after I was finished. I also had to take a break from this to go take my Coms final (the same day this was due), so I was antsy the whole time and flailing my hand to get some feeling back into it.
I gotta give my props and thanks to my buddy Suisen, as the two of us probably did 80% of our finals together. I also gave her my two purple pastel so she could finish, and she bought me tacos as penitence. :B
