After watching and enjoying the "Space Battleship Yamato" (Star Blazers) movie "Space Battleship Yamato: Resurrection" (2009) at the Fantasia Festival, I decided to give doing "Yamato Resurrection" fan art a try. The female character you see in this drawing is Maho Orihara, the head of the Yamato's Super Brain operations team. The way I drew her face was an attempt to make the character resemble how the women in Leiji Matsumoto's Anime and Manga usually look, and I chose this style because depsite the fact that "Space Battlehsip Yamato: Resurrection" is part of the SBY canon, it kinda' made me feel like the franchise isn't the same with Matsumoto's involvement.
