Okay, okay, laaaast bit of Saiyuki fanart before I move on for now. It's been a while since I last drew chibis, and while I was doing my "Seasons of Saiyuki" set, I got it in my head that I wanted to do these guys as chibis. ^o^ Hakkai's pose (green, for non-fans) popped into my head instantly. There's just something about him that's so easy for me!

I also decided to try doing these cel shaded, since chibis end up being so small that they often look almost cel shaded anyway, at least in my style. I'd always thought that the simplicity of cel shading was kind of cheap, too easy. After trying it myself, well, it is easy in a way, but the simplicity itself actually made it challenging! There's definitely an art to it.
