Explanation:
Judging from the original illustration, Ryuuska's age is between 12-15?(I could be wrong). Her eyes are "rounded" in type and the size ratio of eyes to her face,further elaborates the age assumption that I made. Even though the original's wardrobe is borrowed from other sources, there are some subtle variants within that separates it.

I chose this character because it basically had the most free play in design. Since the creator stated that anyone could alter the clothing to match the personality, I thought it deemed fit. I tried to remain truth full to the original design less the clothing.

Design:
Used "cross elements" in accessories and outerwear
Hair/eye color picked by average sample of original
Wardrobe coloring using blue as a base and accent swatches of modern type with purplish tone
"X" cross type belt system: holsters for gun usage(I didn't know what type of guns she used)
Forearm type armory with built in storage(spare clips)

Thoughts:
I enjoyed working on this to take a break from everything. Unfortunately, the limited time(2 days) made me rush things a bit and if you notice towards the bottom of the illustration, the shading got sloppy and lazy. In comparison to my other pieces, I implied new line art techniques and the gradient shading is more profound. I tried to mix in "cell type" shading along with the gradient and things fused quite well IMO. In the next piece, I should have the kinks worked out.
