Well, it's been quite a while since I've submitted something . . . like a year-and-a-half My bad. This piece, like my previous work, is also borrowed from the 2009 Dragonology Calendar. I don't own the pic/dragon.
I'm pretty happy about the way this piece turned out. This was my first time doing something with actual scales, and the ones on the back and neck are pretty realistic. Not so much the ones on the shoulder and tail -_- I also found the inside of the mouth extremely obnoxious to draw. The original pic was much darker in the mouth, but when I tried to mimic that my pencil started making that shiny "way to much graphite in one place" look so I had to be content with the shading that I had. That and getting the tongue and teeth just right were the hardest parts.
I had to spend awhile cleaning up around the pic because when I scanned it all my lovely pencil smudges showed up. It was very depressing lol That and it changed the color from black-and-white to a very strange light pink color; go figure.
Anyway, all that to say I had fun doing this piece (even if I had the desire to burn it every so often). This piece is dedicated to Luffysister cause she's so supportive and a fellow lover of One Piece (which by the way is an AWESOME ANIME!!! And you should watch it and buy it and love it!!! ). Sorry that it's not a OP fanart Luffysister. I was going to draw a Zoro collage, but I was busy doing other things this Christmas break . . . like watching anime. So, yeah, hope you like it.
