Meet Karvas, a major character in my story Guardian (Catira's also from it, for those of you who saw her). He is a powerful earth spirit, elemental opposite of his enemy Catira, and loyal Guardian of the main character Phoebe. Bound to her through a spiritual pact, he has waited nearly a thousand years for her arrival into the world, and now takes it as his duty to protect her at all costs. However, murderous hordes of demons aren't the only thing Karvas has to deal with - he must deal with Phoebe's overwhelming ego and spoiled, arrogant personality, having to suffer her tirades and hatred and even having to take the name "Jerk" for a significant part of the story.

Karvas meets the main character by rescuing her from the demons that attacked her home and then proceeds to take her on a journey to a location he refuses to disclose. This mysterious spirit never speaks a word to Phoebe (although he can talk, he chooses not to: it's his way of trying to mend her arrogance). His human form is what's shown here, but his spirit form appears as a masked and winged knight made of a smooth, impenetrable, and bark-like armor. His weapons are two blades made of a greenish energy, which Karvas can summon at will. Because of his natural earth element, Karvas has a strong affinity with nature: he can use "treesenses" to communicate with plants and access their 'memories' to see what had happened in an area. He can also access the 'memories' of distant trees, as long as the forest remains unbroken.
