The original skecth I made for this needed a lot fixing up (I did the sketch on 5/24/10). I resized her head so it wouldn't look like a bobble-head, did a re-outline, and fixed the ribbons in her hair, etc.
I was looking for different types of coloring/shading styles in online tutorials, I was using one them for about an hour on my picture but then decided I wasn't good at it, so I changed the way I was going to color it!
This drawing was inspired by the opening sequence of this show, I thought the zooming-out shot of Makoto was really cool and very well animated.
I drew the cat at the last minuite. I don't draw animals that much, but I tried, lol.
Makoto's story arc was also my favorite in the show and it had one of the most emotional climax in all of the Key Visual series, in my opinion at least.
