My attempt to draw Queen Starsha from "Space Battleship Yamato" by memory, so I did not look at any of the offical SBY artworks while doing this drawing. Though I managed to capture the character's long hair size and dress appeararnce, I screwed up a bit in drawing the hair flow on the right side of her head because now she looks she was fused with "Galaxy Express 999" female protagonist Maetel (who has side hair curls), even though this drawing is not based on any anime/manga Leiji Matsumoto had worked on other than "Space Battleship Yamato".

Techniques in making this drawing

  • blue pen for outline
  • Staedtler mars graphic 3000 duo pen No. 43 to color the skin
  • Staedtler triplus color yellow fibre-tip pen to color the hair
  • Staedtler triplus color light blue fibre-tip pen to do the 1st color layer on Starsha's dress with a white pencil crayon to make the 2nd color layer on the same object
