Originally a servant boy to a Satrap on the southern coast of the Blessed Isle, Vendris' Lunar Exaltation was soon followed by an attempt on his life by the Wyld Hunt. He narrowly escaped and fled to the Realm-controlled city of Chiaroscuro. There he met He Who Walks the Moon's Shadow, the Lunar elder who would become his mentor. He was initiated into the Silver Pact, given his tattoos and set into the Changing Moons caste. He was indoctrinated into the beliefs of the Winding Path and then loosed to investigate the recent return of the Solar Exalted.
