Equip Spell

This card can only be equipped to a Warrior or Spellcaster-Type Fusion monster. The equipped monster cannot be destroyed in battle with a DARK Fiend or Zombie-Type monster, and damage to the equipped monster’s owner becomes zero. Any DARK Fiend or Zombie-Type monster that battles the equipped monster is destroyed at the end of the Damage Step, and the controller of the destroyed monster takes damage equal to its ATK.

This is the Illustration for one of the cards I made up for my fanfic, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Strawberry Crisis!, which I finished just recently. The following information contains spoilers, so if you haven't read Strawberry Crisis yet, avoid reading this next part.

This is the card I made up to destroy the fused form of the Wicked God cards (which I also made up with that story). It was originally called Sword of Divine Light, but I didn't think that name was very original. I had also written the effect so that it could only be used by Light attribute Warrior, Fairy, or Spellcaster-type monsters. I had planed early on that Jaden would give Shizuma the card after the final duel, since it was Shizuma and Nagisa's love that awakened the card. When I decided to have Shizuma use an Elemental Hero deck however, I changed the card so that it could only be used by Warrior and Spellcaster-type Fusion monsters.

I had originally done a color pencil drawing of the whole card, but I didn't like how it turned out, so I colorized my original sketch in Photoshop. I'm not entirely happy with the background, but I still think it turned out pretty good. At some point I should do the illustration for the other card I made up for Strawberry Crisis. Enjoy.
