this kinda old by now, but this is one of two sketches i did one night of images from a sesskag story idea of mine that had been taunting me senseless to become existent somehow XP

the scene is of kagome, her mother and father-- the human lord and lady of the eastern region meeting the demon lord and lady, and sesshoumaru of the western region. kagome and sesshoumaru are the heirs of their family and so attend the introduction...kagome does lest often though, since she is female, doesn't enjoy it, and her father doesn't like her at all. so that bad sketch being beside her is meant to be her mother but it was just a little sketch, meant to mainly be of kagome so i didn't really bother.

in the meeting sesshoumaru sees her difference compared to all the woman he has met in courts, she is more simply dressed...her hair is up in a loose way, with ribbons and a floral comb, her obi had ties with paper made ornaments..that appeared hand made by children. and her attention was completely away from the important meeting and instead on the garden beyond the open patio in the parlor. she is being as if none of that world she was born into existed, and simply wanted to be in the background with her own devices. no extravegance, no over the top, no elaborate dress and hair, no fauning for attention. it is because of this that he takes notice of her and becomes curious. that is the general idea of the moment this is from.
