Name: "Sho" - In Life: Vincent Showald
Age: 438 - In Life: 19
Hair Color: White - In Life: Blonde
Eye Color: Wispy Blue - In Life: Brown
Height: 5'7 in life
Occupation: The First Telekinetic Mage; involuntarily created/discovered the basis for the infamous art of Necromancy.
Bio: Vincent grew up in a typical 1593 family, with 9 older brothers, and 3 older sisters. He was considered the weakest in their family because his skills in magic were lacking considerably. But, unknown to them, Vincent was working on something big! In his secret studies to better himself, he realized he was capable of manipulating inanimate objects - with his mind! A feat never accomplished by any known mage, simply because the thought or idea had never occurred to them. Determined to prove himself to his 12 siblings - who were all considered master mages and scholars - he would spend almost all of his time practicing, studying and mastering his newfound power, he was going to reveal his power to his family and send them all packing with their lowly opinions of him.
His eldest brother, Garenth, discovered him one day. After learning all about his brothers fascinating power, he decided to make it his own.. He spent months learning from his brother, and quickly mastered this extraordinary art. When Garenth felt he no longer needed Vincent, he devised a way to be rid of him before he revealed his powers to the rest of the family. The night before Vincent would make his move, he was busy preparing demonstrations for his powers. But Garenth had other plans.. While his brother was focusing on his perfectly scripted demonstration, Garenth made his move. Using the very power Vincent discovered, Garenth manipulated a wood poker from a nearby fireplace right into his brother's back, and through his heart. With his brother out of the way, Garenth's plans for the future looked brighter than ever.
Now with the title of Grand Magus under his belt, Garenth began improving on his brother's art, experimenting with other objects and theories: his favorite experiments, however, were those conducted on the dead. Garenth discovered he was capable of manipulating not only inanimate objects, but also dead bodies. He became obsessed with his findings, to the point where he would 'harvest' his own test subjects.. Grave robbery, murder, Garenth was no longer bound by a conscious. He only cared about power, and power would only come from results. Soon, he discovered a deeper part of his power, one that allowed him to manipulate something deeper then an inanimate object: the soul.
With this in mind, Garenth sought out to create the perfect undead creature, a corpse with a mind and soul, but under his full control. With this, Garenth could essentially control the bodies and minds of the people around him. It was simple, really. Kill someone of importance, perhaps a powerful leader or something, reanimate their body and then bind their soul back into the corpse - that Garenth would have complete control over. This was gonna be a cake walk, or so he thought. With all his preparations and studies, Garenth could never have been prepared for what would happen next... The very first soul he managed to manipulate and bind ended up being the soul of his very own brother, Vincent.
Binding and trapping Vincent's soul in a 'borrowed' corpse, Garenth thought his little experiments on his brother would be the beginning of his rise to fame and limitless power. But Vincent knew better; even though Garenth managed to kill him, Vincent knew that he could never be controlled by his own powers for long. With one small mistake, one distraction on Garenth's part, his power wavered for only a second. But a second was all Vincent needed. Breaking free of his corrupted brother's influence, Vincent pushed Garenth through a window.. right onto the spiked fence seven floors below them. With his body no longer supported by Garenth's power, it quickly broke down and returned to it's natural state - death. He thought if his body couldn't be maintained, he was sure his soul would return to the afterlife. But he didn't. Bodyless and brotherless, Vincent entered the life of a solitary ghost. Regularly changing his non-corporeal form between a scraggly, street kid bearing paler features than his form in life, and that of a wispy, snake-like creature with clawed fingers and serpentine eyes. He abandoned his name in life, and took up the name 'Sho'. He spent the next 419 years living the way ghosts lived, at least, the way ghosts in fairytales and children's books lived - playfully haunting and spooking people out of their skins, misplacing their items or letting in a cool draft even when the windows were closed.
Being trapped in the world of the living wasn't so bad, at all. Not for Sho.
If you read all that, you win a cookie (:
