Alice was adopted by her grandmother. Nobody has a clue where she came from, but nobody cares anyways. Her grandmother was quite high in society, and taught her granddaughter to never leave the house with proper protection. Thus her dual pistols. So when she wondered into Wonderland, nobody wanted to show themselves because of her weapons.
