MangaKid picked the theme for day 12. The prompt was to draw a place you like to go or want to go.
I picked this little bistro/cafe/whatever you wish to call it. It's a short drive away from me. I like to go there. In fact, that's where I got my start doing open mics (even though they haven't hosted one in over a year).
When I drew this, I wasn't actually there. I found a picture of the interior by Googling the name of the place. After sketching the table, chair, and vase with flowers, I added some stuff. Like the table setting and the panini on the plate. The wall is decorated with a lot of paintings and things, but since the reference picture was cut off, I didn't add them all.
Still not that great at perspective. I kind of faked it this time. I didn't know what else to do since the vanishing point is off the page. Any (gentle) tips would be helpful.
Tools used:
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Sketch paper
- Ruler
- Compass
- Photoshop CS5 (for touch ups)
I'm not including a link to the reference in order to protect the bistro's identity. Just being on the safe side.
This sketch is mine, but you already knew that.
