I used to have an oc who became a grim reaper. When people supposedly die in their sleep, they see a scythe falling towards them in a tunnel of black. If you dodge the scythe, you live. Catch the scythe and you become one of them. Get cut by the scythe and you die. The scythe cut off one of Wendy's (my oc's) pigtails. She got caught in a loophole because the scythe didn't kill her, yet it still cut part of her off. She's in training to become a grim reaper.
