Some time ago there was a journal entry over on deviantart that discussed fanartists, if i recall it properly the author questioned if it really existed artists that were more than pleased with just drawing fanart instead of something from their own creative minds or if reality simply was that the artists did fanart for the views and faves.
Now I'm not a member at da, so I couldn't comment so I'm compensating for it right now: YES, I do exist, a extremely high percentage of the drawings I do are fanart because I'm close to unable to create something of my own that I would willingly draw more than once.
I believe it's because I got the attention span of a annoyed puppy, characters grow boring before I manage to give them a story.
And fanart is cheesy easy fun to draw heh... Attention isn't everything, if I didn't like the character I obviously wouldn't draw them at all.
