Kubinashi has no neck, just like the name indicates. Or should, but I´m pretty sure it does. He´s Lucans best friend since childhood and only loyal to him. Demonia didn´t like him, framed him and then put him in the impregnable tower which is a jail that drowns away demonic energy.
That birdy-monster-thing at his side could be an underling or just something random, don´t quite know yet. Though the tower seems open there, he can´t escape due to magic circles and some other things. yeah, demonworld is pretty badass after all.
