I've been practicing realism and semi-realism. Here's one of many future portraits of some of my favorite book series characters! The woman is Doyce Marbon and the cat is actually a wildcat called a ghatta. Her name is Khar'pern. They're from the book series The Ghatti's Tale by Gayle Greeno.

Anyway! Like, NOBODY has heard of these books, and there's little information and pictures relating to them on the internet. So I decided that since I need to practice realism anyway, I'll spend my practice on painting portraits of the characters! :>

I originally painted Doyce's face a lot more realistic than that... but after I tried to paint the clothes, they didn't look as realistic, and the contrast between realism and cartoony was too strong. So I redid the face so it would match. Haha.

Because I can definitely do better realism than that. See my Lupe picture. Hehe.
