For moonlit dream's Fashion and Music challenge.
The song I based this outfit on is Neru's The Lost One's Weeping ((ロストワンの号哭) which has become one of my favourite songs ever and influencing a lot of stuff for me.
Because of that, I didn't really want to choose this song for my design, but I could clearly see the design for this song.
I believe the song is about growing up and having to deal with that swamping of responsibilities. When you are young you can have lots of dreams and different likes, but when you are an adult you have to cement those beliefs for some reason or else you will see immature. That's what I get out of the song.
The outfit is a middle school uniform with a slightly oversized blazer on top which signifies adulthood being covered up by childhood. It's slightly oversized because technically it looks like it could fit, but it doesn't, it's just ever so slightly off.
The blazer is cover in math stuff because in the song the kid talks about being good at math, and so japanese is written in red with red check marks because he is supposed to be bad at japanese. He also has a paper with red check marks.
Red check marks means it's wrong. In my japanese class we get quizes all the time with red check marks if the question is wrong so I've gotten used to it, so it my other classes sometimes I get my tests or quizzes back and I have a panic attack because it's covered in red check marks. Then I realize that the red check marks means they're correct in America...;orz My whole life's memory of returned tests has been overwritten by the amount of quizzes I have in my Japanese class.
He has a white piece of paper and then some shredded bits taped on. I just thought that looked cooler than just one piece of paper and it contrasted better with the flat kind of look of the uniform and blazer.
Yap, das my design. It's actually pretty basic, but then it is purposefully basic! :D
I'm taking a short break from mango writing 'cause I'm going on a trip for New Years. I will have to continue finishing the first chapter of my comic during school...which hopefully shouldn't be too much of a disaster...why does manga have to take so long to draaawww?! ;m;
