Whew! That was tough!
So I gotten into this thing where I take coloring pages and, well, basically color them. I re-draw (not trace) the line art because most of the time it's not good enough. I color on another layer. Then I color the lines I drew. I remember seeing it on a speed painting video on YouTube and thought that was a cool thing to do :P
The funniest thing about this was that while I was coloring the plants I was endlessly searching through Google images for "ocean plants" to see what those bell-shaped plants on the left corner were. I have like no knowledge in underwater life, so I don't know the names of most of the plants in the drawing. So my Google search history is something like, "bell shaped ocean plants", "bell ocean flowers", "weird looking sea plants", etc. I gave up and just colored them random colors. It would be appreciated if someone who has any knowledge on underwater wildlife could tell me what those plants are. Only because I wanna color them properly xD
I debated on whether to add any effects on the artwork or not. I wanted it to look more like Alphonse Mucha's works. I decided to add a few gradients and a light overlay of one of the default Photoshop patterns over it to look like a canvas. I am probably no where close to Mucha's style, but I tried :P
I would actually like to do more stuff like this. It was really cool to do! I actually kinda had to learn some things like how to make the perfect ring around Ariel :P
Anyways, I do hope you guys like it! Let me know if you guys would like to see more of this!
