SURPRISE. I am entering a challenge.

I decided to interpret a fashion design from the song The Disappearance of Hatsune Miku. Instead of doing like... couture or street fashion, I made some sci-fi fashion???

I've listened to this song a lot, so when I first decided I wanted to use this song for the challenge, I thought I would make something colorful and fun and happy because the song is pretty upbeat. However, after reading the translation, it's really a pretty depressing song. Q_Q Essentially, the song is about a robot (Miku) becoming self-aware of its status as a robot. It's weird because the robot seems to have consciousness and even seems sad that it's a robot, which would sort of make it human-like, since robots don't have feelings or self-awareness. o_O The song actually reflects the existence of Miku as a Vocaloid: she's not a "real" singer, but in a lot of ways she is real. Even though the song is more depressing now that I know the lyrics, I actually like it even more.

Anyway, my fashion design attempts to convey the song in a few ways. I wanted her to look robotic, with her futuristic outfit, the TV kind of screen on her chest, and the robotic-looking lines on her face, but I also wanted her to seem human. I gave her body a skin-toned shade and even added some blush to her cheeks. Inside her TV chest, the glowing heart shows that she has feelings, even though these feelings are projected on a screen. The lines on her face that look robotic might even be interpreted as tears.

For the color scheme, I wanted to convey technology, so I used yellow, cyan, and magenta, which are the three colors (plus black) that a computer printer uses to print images. I also wanted her to "glow," like a computer or something, so I added some glow to her hair and to some of the designs on her outfit.

The last detail I will comment on are the various rings around her neck, legs, arms, and finger. I employed these fashionable details to represent shackles, as if she is chained to her computerized self.

So there's a sad Miku for you. Q___Q MIKU, I LOVE YOU - YOU'RE REAL TO MEEE!!

Dedicated to my sister because she made the challenge. :v
