I wasn't going to post this until my next sketch dump, but idk I kinda like how it came out... so into my fan art portfolio it goes. :^D
I ended up watching Ping Pong: The Animation this weekend. It was only 11 episodes, so that made it pretty quick to watch. :m I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would, haha. The show had this sort of surreal quality to it that I don't expect from sports anime, which was kind of refreshing in its own way. The characters and their development were really interesting, too.
Anyway, I drew Peco. I actually liked Smile more, I might draw him later... but idk I wanted to try to draw an interesting (?) pose or something, and Peco does that thing where he hits the ping pong ball from behind him... and then the pose somehow came out like this, idk where I'm going with this. orz BACKS ARE HARD TO DRAW... ESPECIALLY HANDS FROM BEHIND, because idk what way the thumb and fingers are supposed to be facing. I think it's right, now, but I originally had the right arm posed differently. It was all over the place and backwards and just crazy.
So yeah, it's at least a little better now.
I'm really interested in color palettes right now! I used like 5 colors for this. Mixing the colors to get the shadows is probably my favorite part, but it's all a pretty interesting experience. (?) Idk, I like the way coloring like this looks, I think I'll keep experimenting with it to try to learn new stuff about colors.
Anyway, I gotta get going to class soon. Have a GREAT MONDAY, my friends.
