She suddenly felt self-conscious, more so than usual—for what reason she couldn’t imagine. He obviously wasn’t interested in her—for what reason she could imagine—so she shouldn’t feel this way. Shouldn’t feel tiny twinges in her belly.
Not uncomfortable. Just disconcerting.
