I was invited by my University Visual Art class members (I do major in Digital Design, with focus on Game Design) to be a part of their stand in Comic Con Exp, the Brazilian version of Comic Con. I was excited! It was a huge opportunity, and I loved the concept of the stand!
They are attending to support the DC Comics projects, and they needed for the very last minute, the Suicide Squad girls. They heard of me through our common Concept Visual teacher and that was how I started to build my profile in a much bigger art world.
This piece was inspired by the Arkham games series and the promotional pics of the Harley Quinn in the movie. I never liked backgrounds, but I knew that I had to improve my game to make this character justice.
I am going to make changes for the final pic, but everybody from the team loved and supported this one.
Took me about a week and half, two days were focused on both composition and character design, four days were spent on the background, two on the coloring and I used the other days to edit the pic as I wanted, adding effects and changing things here and there.
Also HUGE thanks for Sakimi-Chan with her patreon, whose tutorials and tips made an outstanding difference in the overall result.
I just wanted to share this here because I am really proud of it :')
It's a really beloved character, and Batman is my favorite comic (well...okays, my second favorite. My favorite comic is Aquaman).
