Yoongi’s mixtape is releasing soon. I am not prepared, but I am looking forward to it so much. I could be wrong, but I feel like Yoongi’s passion lies in producing.

In high school, I was in a Digital Media program, and my teacher was a producer. One part of class was audio; I sucked at it, but I gained a better appreciation for it. He was the most passionate person I have ever met.

I can barely hold my head around the concepts of EQs, buses, and threshold effects. Yoongi probably has all of it down as well as everything in the gigantic packets my teacher would make. Of course I don’t know Yoongi personally, but the passion he has for music (never being satisfied, reaching for the best, and always reaching for better the next time) reminds me of my teacher.

When I listen to a song, especially to one that I know he produced, I try to listen more closely to understand what goes into it. I plan to do the same for his mixtape because I think it’s the least I could do for all the hard work that’s unseen. I just have a big appreciation for producers because of my teacher.
