One day I'll get tired of drawing Metroid fan art. Today is not that day.

So I saw a really neat bit of Metroid fan art the other day. It was a little gif of Samus as a princess from Mario. I thought it was kinda fun, so I reblogged it to my Metroid fan blog (and of COURSE I have a Metroid fan blog). The more I thought about it, though, the more it bothered me. Samus' dress was based on the Zero Suit, and it seemed like such a wasted opportunity. I mean, Peach and Daisy wear dresses with ridiculous puffy sleeves, and the Varia Suit has those crazy circular shoulders. A Varia Princess dress would be a perfect match! So I took a shot at designing what that would look like, and here it is. I left in the Arm Cannon, because who says adorable princesses don't need giant lazer guns for arms? Maybe if Peach had an Arm Cannon, she wouldn't get kidnapped all the time.
