I'm totally entering this challenge twice, btw :)
So back in middle school I had an X-Men OC called Ultraviolet, whose mutant power was being able to shoot electricity out of her body or something. Why was she called Ultraviolet? well, because my favorite song at the time was Ultraviolet by U2. It had literally nothing to do with the character. Don't ask me what I was thinking. I was thirteen, nothing I did made sense.
Anyway, I don't remember many details about this character, but I was obsessed with drawing this character, and I was always redesigning her hair and outfit and stuff. I recently dug up some of my old art and found this drawing of Ultraviolet. I distinctly remember working on this drawing on my grandparent's porch in the summer, and thinking, "Wow, this is a great drawing! I can't believe what a great artist I am!" So seeing as Little Lena was so proud of it, I thought it would be a good piece to redraw.
I hadn't planned on changing much about the character's design, but I ended up tweaking the hair and costume a bit. The pose is fun, and it's cool to see how much my anatomy/inking/everything has improved. I still don't know how to draw balls of electricity, it seems. Y'know, I can live with that. The lighting in this picture is pretty good, I think, but the colored pencil is kinda crap. I was half asleep when I drew it, so it's not my best work. Still, it's definitly a step up :)
