This is my (very last minute) entry for Keba's fan art challenge. I have been wanting to enter this challenge but time and life have been preventing me from entering sooner. For that I apologize.

Anyway this is my interpretation of Keba's song title "Battle Scars". This one immediately spoke to me as I have gone through personal battles and have both internal, mental, and a few physical scars from trauma from my life. That was basically my focus for this art. I was channeling some of my personal feelings into this work and the character.

For the character I tried to portray her as having both new wounds and an old scar. How she got it is a mystery but I wanted her to be someone that was resilient. I wanted to show her fighting against and defying her situation. That is basically the story I wanted to tell.

The draw took about an hour and the background I edited in Photoshop. It is linked above. I listened to a ton of "anthem" like songs while making this. This one is a personal one for me.
