“They’re all staring at us,” she whispered frantically. “They know. They know I’m not one of them!”

“Actually,” Vekter said, “I’m pretty sure they’re staring because Vekter just returned with an elfwoman who is clinging to him quite tightly. Not that I’m complaining, but if you keep that up they’re going to think I’m far more than your host.”
